Subscription: We take shipping speed seriously. 99% of subscription orders arrive within 2 business days (Saturday delivery now available in select ZIPs). Around half arrive within 1 business day, and more than 10% arrive the very same day! A small fraction of orders may arrive in 3 business days.*

Purchases: Purchases will arrive in 2–5 business days. Your delivery window will be communicated at checkout.

As long as you are an active member, you can keep items for as long as you want. And you don’t have to return all of your 5 items at once — each piece can be kept and worn as long as you need. Members often keep certain items for weeks or months, and send others back after one wear. The choice is always yours.

Goodbyes are hard. That’s why we’ve made returns super easy! All shipments arrive with a prepaid return label and a reusable garment bag to send your rentals back. When you're ready to swap for something new, decide which items you'd like to return, pick your next shipment and send back your items in the packaging provided. Simply drop off your rentals at a nearby UPS, and you’re all set!

Your subscription includes rental coverage for minor mishaps and general wear and tear. Live your life in our clothes and don’t worry about the wine stains, party fouls or whatever your kids might get on you – we have it covered.Significant damage, lost pieces, and theft are not covered. In those cases, you will be charged the current RTR Purchase Price (aka the “To Buy” price) of the item plus applicable tax.

When you’re a member of Rent the Runway, you can skip the laundry and dry cleaning. We take care of that.

Over the past 15 years and tens of millions of rentals, we’ve become experts at cleaning and repairing clothing. We’re dedicated to ensuring that each rental looks and feels like new. We have a deep understanding of the science of cleaning, sanitizing and restoring clothing in our state of the art facilities (DFCs or Dream Fulfillment Centers).

Our responsible cleaning processes, focused on both wet- and dry-cleaning, use biodegradable detergents free of added fragrances and zeolites. We do not use (and have never used) halogenated cleaning solvents such as Perchloroethylene (PERC). After our rigorous cleaning processes, most pieces pass through a steam tunnel between 248°F and 302°F and are immediately sealed to protect them from any additional handling.

Yes! Our subscription plans are designed to be flexible with your lifestyle. You can customize how many spots and shipments you receive each month, and pause or cancel at any time.

It’s common for members to add more spots when they’re busier at work, have a packed social calendar or before a vacation.
